We are seeking an experienced Senior Geologist to join our Technical Services team at MGO – Bluebird Underground on an 8:6 roster. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role in our underground operations within the Murchison region.

Reporting to the Geology Superintendent, you will lead the underground mine geology function, ensuring high‑quality grade control, detailed geological interpretation, and effective supervision of the geology team. This position is central to supporting safe, efficient underground production and delivering strong commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all underground mine geology activities
  • Oversee the underground grade control function, ore tracking and reconciliation
  • Oversee the site geological modelling function and work with site and corporate stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of Resource and Grade Control models
  • Provide timely geological guidance to operations to minimise dilution and maximise ore recovery
  • Analyse drilling, sampling and production data; oversee preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reporting
  • Mentor, support and develop Project, Mine, Junior, and Graduate Geologists
  • Contribute to Life of Mine planning and underground design inputs
  • Participate in site planning, safety and operational meetings
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across technical and operational areas
  • Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, site safety procedures and company policies

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Geology or related discipline
  • Experience in an underground leadership or senior geology position
  • Strong technical capability in UG grade control, geological modelling, and data interpretation
  • Proficiency in Surpac (preferred) and Leapfrog (essential)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence across departments
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and develop a high‑performing geology team
  • C Class driver’s licence and AIG/AusIMM membership

Desirable

  • Underground resource estimation experience
  • Exposure to Supervisor, and GCX
  • Mental Health First Aid or Senior First Aid
